Hi!
Happy Friday! Here is the most recent newsletter from Florida…
The 2023 season is underway! I opened my season at America’s Cup Sarasota down here in Florida. This is the first of three domestic races of the season.
Regarding my international racing, this has been my best result yet. The swim work that we put in during the off-season has given me a big jump forward. This is what set me up for a great race. I came out of the water in the back of the second pack and worked my way up through that pack. I then pulled away from that group on the bike. This resulted in the fastest bike split on the day. In hindsight, I biked a bit too hard and lost a bit of my run legs, but I was able to finish 14th. This result awarded me 76 points. To put this in perspective, this race alone awarded me more points than I earned the entirety of last season.
14th in an international field is something I am proud of. However, we know that I am capable of more, and we know this is just the beginning. We are starting to really put the pieces together and are excited for the next one. I’ll be heading to St. Louis in mid-April, chasing after more points. As I climb in the rankings, I will continue to keep you posted.
I am wrapping up Florida camp this week and will work my way back up North.
Thanks for tuning in and supporting me on this journey!
God Bless
